Encryption at Beside
Beside currently does not offer end-to-end encryption (E2E) for conversations. This is because features like AI call transcription, summaries, and the AI Receptionist require server-side processing of your audio and text data.
However, your data is protected in other important ways:
Encrypted in transit - all data is securely encrypted as it travels between your device and our servers using TLS
Encrypted at rest - your information is stored with AES-256 encryption
No data sales - Beside will never sell your data to third parties

This would disable features like AI call transcription, summaries, the AI Receptionist, and Ask Beside. Beside prioritizes strong encryption in transit and at rest while keeping these AI features available.

Beside employees do not have access to your calls, texts, or transcripts in the normal course of business. Data access is strictly controlled through role-based permissions and audit logging.

Beside's SOC 2 Type II certification expired in early 2026, and we are actively working toward renewal. In the meantime, the same operational and security controls remain in place: AES-256 encryption at rest, TLS encryption in transit, AWS hosting in the United States, role-based access controls, and a strict no-data-sales policy.
