Call forwarding is useful when you want Beside to handle your calls, but there are situations where you may want to turn it off, such as:

  • switching back to your primary phone

  • deleting the Beside app

  • canceling your subscription

  • troubleshooting call issues

👉 If you’re looking to set up call forwarding instead, see How to enable call forwarding to Beside?

⚠️ Important: disable call forwarding before deleting Beside

If you’re deleting the Beside app or canceling your subscription, make sure to disable call forwarding first.

If it remains enabled, calls to your primary number may continue forwarding to Beside, even if the app is no longer installed.

Call forwarding is managed entirely by your carrier. Beside cannot disable it on your behalf.

🧭 Important to know before you start

  • Call forwarding is always managed by the carrier that owns your phone number

  • Beside does not control or override call forwarding

⚠️ Having issues? Contact your carrier

If call forwarding doesn’t turn off as expected, your carrier is the only one who can fully disable it.

If calls keep forwarding after you’ve followed the steps below, we recommend reaching out directly to your carrier’s support team.

1️⃣ Disable call forwarding using the Beside mobile app (recommended)

This is the easiest way to disable call forwarding when your carrier is supported in the app.

  1. Open the Beside mobile app

  2. Go to the Settings tab

  3. Tap your Inbox

  4. Scroll to Phone → Configure number

  5. Under Incoming calls, tap Call forwarding

  6. Turn off call forwarding for your provider

  7. Follow the on-screen steps

❗ Contact your carrier to confirm that call forwarding is fully deactivated.

2️⃣ Disable call forwarding directly on your device

If you didn’t enable call forwarding through the Beside app, you may need to disable it directly on your phone.

📱 iPhone

  1. Open the Settings app

  2. Tap Phone

  3. Tap Call Forwarding

  4. Toggle Call Forwarding OFF

❗ Contact your carrier to confirm deactivation.

ℹ️ If the Call Forwarding option doesn’t appear, try the carrier-specific codes below.

🤖 Android (Samsung, Pixel, etc.)

  1. Open the Phone app (native dialer)

  2. Tap the menu (top-right)

  3. Tap Settings

  4. Tap Calling accounts or Supplementary services

  5. Tap Call forwarding

  6. Remove or disable the forwarding number

3️⃣ Disable call forwarding using carrier-specific dial codes

If call forwarding settings aren’t available on your device, you can disable it using your carrier’s dial codes.

📌 Dial these from your phone’s native keypad, not from the Beside app.

  • For T-Mobile:

    • Open the Phone app.

    • Dial ##21#, then press Call.

  • For AT&T:

    • Open the Phone app.

    • Dial #21#, then press Call.

  • For Verizon:

    • Open the Phone app.

    • Dial *73, then press Call.

  • For Sprint / US Cellular / Boost / Cricket Wireless

    • Open the Phone app.

    • Dial *720, then press Call.

Additional carriers

Google Fi

  • Open the Google Fi app or go to the Google Fi website.

  • Navigate to Settings.

  • Remove or disable the forwarding number in the Call Forwarding

Google Voice (not supported)

If you've previously tried forwarding your Google Voice number to Beside, we recommend disabling it - since Beside does not officially support call forwarding from Google Voice at this time. Leaving it enabled can cause call delivery issues.

  1. Visit voice.google.com and sign in to your Google account.

  2. In the top-right corner, click the ⚙️ Settings icon.

  3. In the Calls menu, scroll to the Linked numbers section.

  4. Find your Beside number and click Remove.

⚠️ Important considerations

✔️ Verify deactivation

Always confirm with your carrier that call forwarding is fully disabled. Some carriers require additional confirmation or backend processing.

✔️ Support limitations

Beside Support cannot enable, disable, or troubleshoot carrier-side call forwarding.

Only your carrier can do that.
