This article focuses on outgoing calls and in-call issues.

👉 If your phone isn’t ringing for incoming calls, see instead: How do I fix calls not ringing?

1️⃣ Your internet connection is weak or unstable

Beside uses your internet connection (Wi-Fi or mobile data). If the signal is weak or unstable, your call may fail, drop, or lose audio.

👉 How to fix

  • Move to a place with stronger signal

  • Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data

  • Restart your router

  • Close apps using heavy bandwidth

💡 Try switching to cellular network during a call

You can switch seamlessly without hanging up:

  1. During a call, tap the 🛜 icon in the top-right corner of the screen

  2. Choose “Call with cellular network”

  3. If needed, tap “Hang up & call with cellular”

2️⃣ Call Forwarding conflicts (carrier-level)

If you’re forwarding your personal phone number to Beside, incorrect carrier forwarding can cause:

  • Calls failing to connect

  • No audio

  • Calls disconnecting

👉 How to fix

  • Turn Call Forwarding OFF on your carrier line

  • Turn it ON again using the in-app setup steps

  • Make sure the right line is being forwarded to your Beside number

3️⃣ International calls are not supported

Beside currently supports calls only to U.S. and Canadian numbers.

What this means

  • Calls to numbers outside the U.S. or Canada will fail

  • You can still receive international calls to your Beside number

  • Outgoing international calling is not available yet

👉 How to fix

Use your personal carrier’s international calling plan for numbers outside North America.

4️⃣ AT&T forwarding limitations

A small portion of AT&T users (~5%) may experience issues with forwarding their AT&T number to Beside due to how AT&T handles third-party call routing.

Symptoms

  • Dropped calls

  • No audio

  • Calls not ringing

This is a known limitation with how AT&T handles call forwarding to third-party numbers like Beside. Unfortunately, there’s no fix we can apply on our end.

👉 How to fix

If you’re affected, you have two options:

  • Use your assigned Beside number directly, without forwarding from AT&T

  • Or forward a number from a different carrier (e.g., Verizon) instead.

5️⃣ T-Mobile to T-Mobile Caller ID conflict

Calls may fail when all of these conditions are true:

  • You are forwarding a T-Mobile number to Beside

  • Caller ID is enabled in your Beside settings

  • You are calling another T-Mobile number

👉 How to fix

Disable Caller ID in Beside settings before making the call.
