👁️ AI Receptionist vs Voicemail in the Beside app
Both the AI Receptionist and your Beside Voicemail help manage missed calls, but they work differently and can complement each other.
👉 The AI Receptionist replaces your voicemail for the contacts you’ve chosen, it speaks to those callers instead of sending them to a recording.
The AI Receptionist holds a real-time, smart conversation with your caller; it asks questions, collects details, and can follow up automatically.
Beside Voicemail simply plays your pre-recorded greeting and records an audio message after the beep.
The AI Receptionist learns from your Knowledge and Preferred Name, so it can respond naturally and in line with your tone.
⚙️ How to activate your AI Receptionist
Open Settings → AI Receptionist
On the right side of General, choose what you want your AI to handle (enable by default)
Toggle ON under each channel (phone, chat, email) you want to enable.
That’s it! Your AI is now live and ready to handle incoming calls, messages or emails according to your settings.
💡 Tip: You can always deactivate any channel temporarily, just toggle Deactivate at the bottom of each tab.
