Connect Beside with Zapier

Connect Beside to Zapier and automate workflows - log calls, send notifications, update spreadsheets, and connect to 7,000+ apps.

Zapier lets you connect Beside to thousands of apps and automate workflows - no code needed. You can automatically log calls in your project manager, send notifications to Slack, update spreadsheets, and more.

This article covers how to set up Zapier with Beside, available triggers and actions, common use cases, and troubleshooting.

πŸ“Œ Before you start - check that the other app is on Zapier: Beside is on Zapier, but the second app you want to connect needs to be there too. Search for your tool at zapier.com/apps before setting up a Zap. If it's not listed, Zapier can't connect to it - and Beside cannot integrate with it through any other channel, since Beside doesn't have a public API.

What you can do with Zapier

Zapier connects Beside to 7,000+ apps by pairing a trigger (an event in Beside) with an action (something that happens in another app). Here are common examples:

  • Call ends in Beside β†’ create a task in Asana, Trello, or Notion

  • New voicemail in Beside β†’ send a Slack notification to your team

  • AI Receptionist captures a lead β†’ add a row to a Google Sheet

  • Missed call in Beside β†’ send yourself an email with the caller details

Browse all available Beside triggers and actions on Beside's Zapier page.

Connect Zapier to Beside

πŸ“Œ Zapier setup happens on the Beside mobile app (iPhone or Android). The web app at app.beside.com does not yet include Zapier controls. Once your Zap is active, it runs in the background regardless of which platform triggers the event, so calls and texts made from the web app will also fire your existing Zaps.

  1. Sign up for Zapier (free plan available; paid plans for higher usage)

  2. Create a new Zap and search for Beside as the trigger app

  3. Select the trigger event (e.g., "New Call Ended", "New Voicemail")

  4. Click Sign In and authenticate with your Beside account

  5. Grant Zapier permissions to access your Beside data - click Allow

  6. Choose the action app (e.g., Google Sheets, Slack, Asana) and configure it

  7. Test your Zap to confirm it works

  8. Click Publish to activate

🟑 Authentication tip:

  • Use your primary phone number linked to Beside to log in to Zapier - not your Beside number.

  • If you use Apple Sign-in or Google Sign-in for Beside, use the same method in the Zapier authentication flow.

Platform availability

Setup is done from the mobile app; once active, the integration fires regardless of which Beside platform triggered the event.

  • πŸ“± iPhone - setup and triggers fully supported

  • πŸ€– Android - setup and triggers fully supported

  • 🌐 Web app at app.beside.com - setup not supported; events from the web app still fire your active Zaps in the background

  • πŸ’» Beside for macOS - not supported for now

Troubleshooting

If your Zap isn't working as expected:

  1. Check your Zapier task history - go to your Zapier task history to see if the Zap fired and what error occurred

  2. Re-authenticate - disconnect and reconnect your Beside account in Zapier

  3. Test the trigger - make sure the trigger event actually happened in Beside (e.g., a call was completed after you set up the Zap)

  4. Check your Zapier plan - if you've hit your monthly task limit on Zapier's free plan, new automations won't run until your quota resets

πŸ“Œ Who to contact for help:

  • Beside support can help with connecting your account and understanding what's possible with the integration.

  • Zapier support can help with building Zaps, fixing connection errors, and debugging failed automations. Beside cannot access your Zapier logs or workflows.

FAQ

Can I integrate Beside with a specific tool I use?

It depends on two conditions:

  1. Beside is on Zapier (yes, with triggers like new call ended, new voicemail, new missed call, new text message).

  2. The tool you want to connect must also be on Zapier. Search for it at zapier.com/apps. If it's listed, you can build a Zap connecting Beside to it. If it's not, the integration isn't currently possible - Beside doesn't have a public API, and there's no other integration channel.

Most common business tools (CRMs, calendars, Google Sheets, Slack, Notion, Airtable, project managers) are on Zapier. Niche or industry-specific software may not be.

Do I need a paid Zapier plan?

Zapier offers a free plan with limited tasks per month. For most business use cases, a paid Zapier plan is recommended.

Can I set up a Zap from the web app?

Not yet. Zapier setup (connecting your Beside account, configuring triggers, authorizing Zapier) is currently available on the Beside mobile app only. The web app at app.beside.com does not yet include Zapier controls. Calls, texts, and other events from the web app do trigger your existing Zaps normally.

What triggers are available for Beside in Zapier?

Available triggers include: new call ended, new voicemail, new missed call, new text message, and more. Check the full list at zapier.com/apps/beside/integrations.

Can I use Make (formerly Integromat) instead of Zapier?

Beside does not have a native Make integration at this time. Zapier is the officially supported automation platform.

My Zap stopped working - what should I do?

Check your Zapier task history for errors. Common causes include expired authentication (re-connect your Beside account) or an issue with the action app. If you're stuck, contact Zapier support for help with your workflow.

Can I connect Beside to my CRM through Zapier?

Yes. If your CRM isn't natively supported by Beside (HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoho, Follow Up Boss, Monday), you can use Zapier to connect Beside to almost any CRM that's available on Zapier.

Does Beside have an API?

Beside does not offer a public API at this time. Zapier is the recommended way to automate workflows and connect Beside with other tools.
