Track your call activity, review trends, and understand key metrics like call volume, duration, and missed calls in Beside.


Beside tracks your call activity and surfaces key insights so you can understand how your phone lines are performing. This includes call volume, duration, missed calls, and AI Receptionist activity.


Where to find your call insights

On the web app

From app.beside.com, click Phone Numbers in the sidebar to view your full call history pe rline. Open any call to see the summary, transcript, and call details.

On the mobile app

Your call activity is visible throughout the Beside mobile app:

  • Open the Beside mobile app and go to your line

  • Each conversation shows the call duration, whether it was answered or missed, and whether the AI Receptionist handled it

  • Call summaries and transcripts provide details on what was discussed

On macOS

๐Ÿ“– Beside for macOS displays your call and meeting history in the left sidebar, with transcripts and summaries accessible for each entry.


Key metrics available

Call volume

See how many calls you've received, made, and missed over any time period. This helps you identify busy times and staff accordingly if you're on the ๐Ÿ‘ฅ Business plan with a team.

Call duration

Each call displays its duration. Longer calls may indicate complex client issues or in-depth consultations worth reviewing.

Missed calls

Track which calls went unanswered. If your AI Receptionist is enabled, missed calls are handled automatically - the AI answers, takes a message, and generates a summary so you can follow up.

AI Receptionist activity

See which calls were handled by your AI Receptionist, what information was collected, and whether the caller was transferred, booked an appointment, or left a message. Each AI-handled call includes a full transcript and summary.


Daily Recap for trends

For a daily overview of your activity, enable Daily Recap. It summarizes your day's calls, texts, and action items in one message delivered at a time you choose.


Ask Beside for deeper insights

Use Ask Beside to query your call history with natural language. For example:

  • "How many calls did I get last week?"

  • "Who called me the most this month?"

  • "What topics came up in calls with [contact name]?"

  • "List my missed calls from this week"


FAQ

Is there a dedicated analytics dashboard?

Beside doesn't have a standalone analytics dashboard yet. Your call data is available through call history, AI summaries, Daily Recap, and Ask Beside. A more detailed analytics view is being considered for a future update.

Can I export my call data?

Yes. Beside doesn't offer an in-app "Download my data" button yet, but you can request a full data export by contacting the Support team via in-app chat. Exports include your call logs (timestamps, from/to numbers, AI-generated summaries), contacts, and outbound messages, delivered as CSV files in a ZIP archive. Call audio and raw transcripts are not included.

Can I see analytics per line on the Business plan?

Your call history is organized by line, so you can review activity for each line separately. Ask Beside can also filter insights by line or contact.

How far back does my call history go?

Your full call history is stored as long as your account is active. There is no limit on how far back you can view or search.
