After every call made or received through Beside, you automatically get an AI-generated summary and a full transcript. These appear on the conversation in the app within minutes of the call ending.

Automatic transcription
All calls are automatically recorded and transcribed. The full transcript appears on the conversation, with speaker labels so you can see who said what.
AI summary card
Beside creates a structured summary that includes key points discussed, action items, decisions made, and any follow-up steps mentioned during the call.
π‘ Also on macOS: If you use π Beside for macOS, you can view transcripts and summaries from calls made on your phone directly on your desktop. Open the Beside app on macOS, go to the Phone Calls tab, and open the relevant phone note.

By email
β οΈ π₯ Business plan feature. Starter accounts created before January 22, 2026 also have access (grandfathered). Starter accounts created on or after that date need to upgrade to π₯ Business.
You can also receive call summaries and transcripts automatically by email after each call, including ones handled by your AI Receptionist. This is an opt-in setting, managed separately from the app and web views.
Share summaries outside Beside
Each summary generates a shareable web link. You can share it with anyone β even people who don't use Beside.
If you called someone who doesn't use Beside, the AI summary is only visible on your side. To share it, use the share options on the summary card: copy link, copy text, email, or share to Slack, Notion, and other apps.
Calendar event detection
On mobile, Beside detects calendar events mentioned during the call and suggests them after the call ends. You can add these events to your calendar directly from the summary card.
Post-call action cards
When your AI Receptionist handles a call and detects an actionable intent - like a caller asking to be called back - an action card appears on the conversation. Each card explains what the AI detected and gives you a one-tap way to follow up.
Action cards have two states:
Action - the action has not been taken yet. Tap the button on the card to act on it.
Resolved - once the action has been taken, the card switches to a resolved state (e.g. β Called), so you and your team can see at a glance that it has been handled.
Call back
The first available action card is Call back. When the AI Receptionist detects that a caller has requested a callback, the card shows:
A short description (e.g. "Callback requested - The caller explicitly requests a callback and provides their contact information for a return call.").
A black Call back button to return the call directly from the card.
After you tap Call back, the card updates to β Called in its resolved state.
