Tired of interruptions from unknown or spam callers? Beside gives you the option to silence calls from numbers not saved in your contacts.
Instead of ringing your phone, these calls are quietly routed to your Beside voicemail - so you can stay focused without missing anything important.
🔇 What does “Silence Unknown Callers” do?
When enabled, Beside will automatically route calls from numbers you don’t know directly to your Beside voicemail.
A number is considered unknown if:
it’s not saved in your contacts
and you’ve never called it before
What happens:
Your Beside app won’t ring
The AI Receptionist won't handle those calls
The call is logged in your Calls history
The caller can leave a voicemail
You can combine this with your AI Receptionist for follow-up

🔧 How to enable Silence Unknown Callers
Open the Beside app on your device
Tap the Settings tab
Choose your inbox
Scroll to Notifications, then tap Silence Unknown Callers.
Toggle the switch to On.
ℹ️ Using a shared inbox with teammate? If you're on a Business plan, only the account owner - the person who pays for the subscription - can manage this setting. Team members invited to the inbox won't be able to turn it on or off.
📞 What happens when it’s enabled?
Unknown calls are silenced: Calls from numbers not in your contacts and never called before won't ring your phone and go straight to your Beside voicemail, without ringing your phone.
Calls are logged: You'll still see these calls in your Calls list.
Known contacts still ring normally: Calls from known or previously dialed numbers ring your phone as usual.
ℹ️ This feature works independently of your AI Receptionist settings, which determine how missed calls are handled. You can combine both features to reduce interruptions and ensure important calls are still followed up.

Tap the Settings tab
Choose your inbox
Scroll to Notifications, then tap Silence Unknown Callers
Toggle the switch to Off
