Export your data

Request a full export of your Beside data - contacts, messages, calls, and AI summaries delivered as CSV files. Call recordings are not included.

Beside does not yet offer an in-app "Download all my data" button. However, if you need a copy of your data, you can request an export by contacting the Beside Support team from the app.

This article explains what's included in a data export, what's not, and how call recordings are handled.

📌 Note:

  • Data exports currently include only data generated through the Beside mobile app.

  • Activity from Beside for macOS is not included in exports at this time.


What's included in a data export

When you request an export, Beside provides a ZIP archive containing multiple CSV files with the following data:

Contacts

Does not include enriched contact data or additional metadata

  • Basic contact records associated with your account

  • First name, last name, and phone number

Messages

Does not include incoming SMS messages from external contacts

  • Outbound SMS messages sent from Beside

  • Messages sent by the AI Text Receptionist (when enabled)

Calls

Does not include call audio or raw transcripts

  • Inbound and outbound calls

  • Calls answered by you or by your AI Receptionist (when enabled)

  • Call logs with timestamps and metadata (received, answered, finished)

  • From / to phone numbers

  • AI-generated call summaries, including summary title and content (as shown in the app)

Each category is delivered as a separate CSV file inside a ZIP archive.


What's not included

The following data is not included in a data export:

  • Call audio recordings

  • Raw call transcripts

  • Enriched contact data or additional metadata

  • Daily Recaps

  • Other AI-generated content outside of call summaries


About call recordings

Here's what you need to know about exporting call audio.

Call recordings cannot be downloaded

At this time, call recordings cannot be exported or downloaded out of Beside, including calls answered directly by you and calls handled by your AI Receptionist.

This is due to important legal and privacy considerations, including surveillance/wiretapping concerns, rules around redistributing recorded audio, and cross-jurisdiction privacy compliance.

Beside is evaluating safe options for the future and will notify you if this becomes available.

What you can export instead: call summaries

Even though audio downloads aren't supported, you can share or export the AI call summaries.

To share a call summary:

  1. Open the summary card

  2. Tap Copy Link or Email

  3. Share the secure web link with clients, invited members, or yourself


FAQ

How do I request a data export?

Open the Beside mobile app and contact the Support team via the in-app chat. Request a "full data export" and the team will process it for you.

How long does a data export take?

Most exports are processed within a few business days. You'll receive the ZIP archive via a secure link.

Can I download my call recordings?

No. Call recordings cannot be exported or downloaded at this time due to legal and privacy restrictions. You can share AI-generated call summaries using the Copy Link or Email options in the app.

Will Beside ever support in-app data downloads?

An in-app "Download my data" feature is not available yet. Beside is evaluating options for a self-serve export tool in the future.
