How do I archive and delete conversations in Beside?

Learn how to organize your Beside inbox by archiving or permanently deleting conversations. Both options help you keep things tidy, depending on whether you want to hide a chat or remove it entirely.

🗂️ Archiving conversations

Archiving hides a conversation from your main inbox without deleting it.

To archive a conversation:

  1. Long-press the chat you want to archive.

  2. Tap Archive.

You can view all archived conversations anytime by opening the Archived tab directly from the Inbox screen.

🗑️ Deleting conversations

You can permanently delete entire conversations in Beside.

This removes all history with that contact, including:

  • Call transcripts & summaries

  • Voicemails

  • Voice notes

  • Text messages

To delete a conversation:

  • Swipe left on the conversation you want to delete and tap “Delete” or

  • Long press on the conversation and select “Delete”

⚠️ Once deleted, the conversation cannot be recovered.

ℹ️ You cannot delete individual messages - only whole conversations.

🎙️ Voice memos

Voice memos can currently be archived only, not permanently deleted.

We know many users want more control over voice memo management, and our team is actively working on improvements for future updates.

💡 Important note for Beside contacts

If you don’t see the option to delete a conversation with another user, it’s likely because the contact is also a Beside user.

We are aware of this limitation and are actively working to support archiving and deleting conversations with Beside contacts in an upcoming update.
