Learn how to install Beside on your iPhone, Android phone, or Mac, and what to expect based on your region and device.
Depending on your device, some features (like calling, texting, or meeting capture) may vary. Below, you'll find full installation instructions and login guidance for each platform.

Beside is currently available on iOS and Android in the United States and Canada only.
However, the macOS app can be downloaded worldwide from our website → beside.com/download
📱 Beside for iOS
Bring Beside with you on the go - available for iPhone and iPad.
✅ System requirements
iPhone 8 and newer
At least 150 MB of free storage
⚙️ How to install
Open the App Store (U.S. or Canada)
Search for “Beside”
Tap Get (or the cloud icon ☁️ to re-download)
Authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID, or your Apple ID password
Once installed, tap Open or locate Beside on your home screen.
🔑 How to log in
On iOS, you can log in using:
Primary phone number
Apple Sign-in
Email
Google Sign-in
⚠️ Logging in on a new device or platform
Make sure to use the same method you originally used to create your account.
This prevents creating a duplicate account and ensures your active subscription is linked to the correct profile.
🔐 iOS permissions
Beside will request access to:
Microphone → to record and transcribe calls
Notifications (optional) → to receive call and message alerts
Contacts (optional) → to help identify callers
To manage permissions later: Go to Settings → Beside and toggle permissions on or off.
💻 Beside Desktop for macOS
Beside for macOS helps you prep and summarize meetings, it's currently focused on meeting intelligence, not phone features. Calling and texting are coming soon!

✅ System requirements
To install Beside on your Mac, make sure you have:
macOS 15.0 or later
Apple Silicon (M1, M2, M3, M4) or Intel processor (required for some features)
At least 200 MB of free storage
A Google account for calendar integration (Outlook coming soon!)
⚙️ How to install
Go to beside.app/download
Download the Beside.dmg file
Open the file and drag Beside into your Applications folder
Open Applications → Beside
Click Open when prompted
🔑 How to log in
1️⃣ If you're already using Beside on mobile
Click on “Already have an account? Log in”
Log into the desktop app using the same login method you used on iPhone or Android:
Primary phone number
Apple Sign-in
Google Sign-in
Email
⚠️ Do not click “Continue with Google” if you already have an account on mobile. This will create a new account, which may lead to duplicate accounts, one of which may be empty or not linked to your subscription.
🔄 Connecting your Google Calendar
If your not logging in with a Google, you’ll need to connect your Google Calendar from the app settings to access meeting-related features.
Go to: Preferences → Calendar → Manage Calendars.

2️⃣ If you're new to Beside and joining from desktop
If you don’t already have a Beside account, you can create one directly on macOS. For now, Google is the only sign-in option available for new users creating an account on desktop.
👉 Simply click on “Continue with Google”.
ℹ️ Logging into the mobile app after creating your Beside account on desktop
Once you’ve created your account on desktop, you can install Beside on your mobile device and log in using the same Google account.
Don’t choose a different login method on mobile. Doing so will create a separate account and disconnect your subscription and data.
👉 Simply tap “Continue with Google”.
🔐 macOS permissions
To work properly, Beside needs access to:
Calendar → to detect upcoming meetings
Notifications → to send meeting reminders
Microphone → record meeting audio
Screen Recording → for meeting transcription
To adjust permissions later: Beside Desktop system → Settings → Permissions + Recordings
🤖 Beside for Android (Beta)
Beside is now available on Android as a public beta (Early Access).
This means the app is fully downloadable, but still under active development - new improvements are released every week.
⚠️ Some features available on iOS are not yet available on Android.

Android supports:
Phone number
Email
Google SSO
Tip: If you already created a Beside account on another platform (iOS, Android, or macOS), make sure to log in with the same login method.
This ensures your account syncs properly and prevents creating a duplicate account.
