Pulses are recurring prompts that Beside runs automatically on a schedule you set. Each time a Pulse runs, Beside creates a new conversation with the results - so you get a fresh briefing without having to ask.
Use Pulses for things you'd otherwise check manually every day or every week, like:
A daily summary of your AI Receptionist activity
A weekly recap of who you should call back and why
A Monday brief on missed calls from the weekend
π Available everywhere: Pulses can now be configured from the Beside mobile app (iPhone and Android) and from Beside on the web.
Create a Pulse
From Settings
Open Beside on mobile or web β go to Settings β Notifications β Pulses
Tap + Create Pulse
Fill in the configuration (see below), then tap Create
From an Ask Beside chat
When you ask Beside something you'd like to keep getting on a regular basis, you can turn that prompt into a Pulse directly from the chat - no need to retype it in Settings.
What you can configure
Name & Icon - an optional name to recognize the Pulse later (e.g. "Weekly recap"). Leave empty if you'd rather identify it by its prompt.
Visibility - choose where the Pulse output is sent. You can pick one of your lines, or Only me to keep the results private.
Frequency - Daily, Weekdays, Weekly, or Monthly.
Time - the time of day the Pulse runs.
Timezone - the timezone the scheduled time is interpreted in. Defaults to your current timezone.
Prompt - the instruction Beside will run each time. Be specific. For example: "Summarize new messages on this line and flag anything urgent" or "List the calls my AI Receptionist handled in the last 24 hours and the top reasons people called".
π‘ Tip: The clearer your prompt, the better the output. Treat the prompt as if you were writing instructions for an assistant who will repeat the same task every time.
Manage your Pulses
Open Settings β Notifications β Pulses to see all the Pulses you've created. Each Pulse shows its name, schedule (e.g. Daily at 9:00 AM), where the output is sent, and the prompt preview.
A Pulse can be in one of two states:
π’ Live - active and running on schedule
π΄ Paused - skipped until you resume it. The configuration is preserved.
Pause, resume, edit, or delete a Pulse
Pause - tap Pause on the Pulse card. The Pulse stops running until you resume it.
Resume - on a paused Pulse, tap Resume.
Edit - tap Edit on the Pulse card to update the name, visibility, frequency, time, or prompt. From the Edit screen you can also toggle Enabled on or off (same effect as Pause/Resume).
Delete - open the Pulse in Edit mode, scroll down, and tap Delete Pulse. The Pulse is permanently removed - past conversations it generated are kept.
Pulses vs Daily Recap
Both Pulses and Daily Recap deliver scheduled summaries, but they work differently:
Daily Recap | Pulses |
One fixed daily summary covering all your activity | Any number of custom recurring prompts you define |
Time of delivery is configurable; content is not | Time, frequency, scope, and prompt are all configurable |
App-wide | Per line, or personal (Only me) |
