Jane is where your clinic's schedule lives. Connect it to Beside and your patients and their appointments come across on their own, so your agent knows who is booked in, who came, and who did not.
You sign in to Jane yourself. Beside opens a secure browser for you to do it in, and never asks you for your Jane password or your verification code.
Before you connect
Your clinic address, the one you use to open Jane, such as your-clinic.janeapp.com
Your own Jane sign-in, with access to the clinic schedule
Connecting Jane is an account owner action
Connect your clinic
Open Settings → Connectors and select Jane
Under Find your clinic, enter your Clinic address and select Continue
Check the Clinic time zone, which decides how appointment times are read
Select Sign in to Jane. A secure browser opens on Jane's own sign-in page
Sign in as you normally would. If Jane asks for a verification code, enter it there
Close that tab, come back to Beside, and select I signed in
📌 If nothing opened:
Your browser blocked the window. Select Open Jane sign-in to continue.
Signing in is not the last step on its own. Beside then reads your clinic identity and your calendar with that session to check it really works, and only turns Jane on once that passes. If it does not, the browser stays available so you can try again.
💡 If you work across several clinics:
Only the clinic whose address you entered is connected. Beside keeps nothing from the others.
What Beside reads from Jane
Patients become contacts, and appointments become jobs. That is the whole of it:
Beside reads | Beside does not read |
Your patients, which become contacts in Beside | Clinical notes and chart content |
Their appointments, from 30 days back to 90 days ahead | Payment details |
Where each appointment got to, so a past appointment the patient arrived for counts as finished | Anything in Jane that is not a patient or an appointment |
Only patients with an appointment inside that window come across, and each visit shows up on that contact's timeline in Beside. Nothing is written back into Jane: the connection only reads.
Keeping it in sync
When you connect, Beside brings in the whole window at once
After that it checks Jane every hour
Sync now runs one straight away. While it is working the button reads Sync queued, then Syncing
Sync history on the same page lists the recent runs, scheduled and manual, so you can see when Beside last heard from Jane.
🟡 Jane sessions do not last forever:
Jane decides when a session ends and there is no fixed lifetime. When it happens, Beside stops syncing and asks you to sign in again from the same screen. Everything already imported stays where it is.
Troubleshooting
Beside is asking me to sign in to Jane again
Jane ended the saved session. Open Settings → Connectors, select Jane and sign in again the same way. Your imported patients and appointments are not affected, and syncing picks up where it left off.
Nothing happened when I selected Sign in to Jane
Your browser blocked the sign-in window. Select Open Jane sign-in to open it from your own click instead.
I signed in, but Beside says the connection is not finished
Signing in to the browser is not enough on its own. Beside also has to read your clinic identity and calendar with that session, and something turned it away. The browser is still there: select Open Jane sign-in, sign in again, then I signed in.
An appointment is missing
Check the date. Beside covers 30 days back to 90 days ahead, so anything outside that window is not imported, and a patient with no appointment in it does not come across either.
Appointment times look wrong
Check the Clinic time zone on the Jane connection screen. It is set from your browser when you connect, so it can be wrong if you set the connection up while away from the clinic.
