While Beside was originally designed with business users in mind, many of our users also enjoy using it for personal purposes—whether it’s filtering spam calls, managing personal communications, or keeping a record of conversations.

The great news is that you don’t need to change your account settings to switch from “business” to “personal.” Instead, you can easily customize your Beside experience to fit your personal style.


How to customize your Beside experience for personal use

Follow these simple steps to update your AI Receptionist with your personal details:

  1. Open the Beside App: Launch the Beside app on your device.

  2. Access Settings: Tap the Settings icon located at the bottom right of the screen.

  3. Update AI Receptionist Settings:

    • Tap AI Receptionist.

    • Update your greeting message to reflect your personal use.

    • Save your changes.

By updating these settings, your Beside account will reflect your personal identity while still retaining all the powerful features designed for business use.


Why customize Beside for personal use?

Spam filtering:

You can configure your Receptionist to exclusively answer missed calls from unsaved numbers, effectively filtering out spam while keeping control over calls from your contacts.

Call recording & transcription:

Keep a record of your conversations or transcribe calls for future reference. Plus, you always have the option to stop recording during a call.

Seamless communication:

If you prefer not to use the Beside number assigned to you at sign-up, simply enable call forwarding and caller ID. This allows you to use your own number while still benefiting from Beside’s features.


🔒 Compliance notice:

Even for personal use, you must still comply with Beside’s Terms of Service. This includes obtaining consent before recording calls and not using Beside for restricted content.
