Update your payment method

Update your payment method on the App Store, Google Play, or directly through Beside (Stripe). Switch from App Store or Google Play to the Beside subscription.

Your Beside subscription can be billed through the App Store (iOS), Google Play (Android), or directly through Beside using a card. How you update your payment method depends on where your subscription is managed.

Update your payment method on the App Store

If your subscription is billed through Apple, you update your payment method directly in your Apple account settings - not in the Beside app.

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone

  2. Tap your name at the top, then Payment and Shipping

  3. Add or update your card details

Changes apply to all App Store subscriptions, including Beside.

Update your payment method on Google Play

If your subscription is billed through Google Play, update your payment method in the Play Store:

  1. Open the Play Store app

  2. Tap your profile icon, then Payments and subscriptions, then Payment methods

  3. Add or update your card details

Update your payment method directly through Beside (Stripe)

If your subscription is managed directly through Beside (the Beside subscription, or a grandfathered Stripe πŸ‘€ Starter or πŸ‘₯ Business), you can update your card at any time from πŸ“– Beside on the web:

  1. Go to app.beside.com/settings/billing, or click Settings in the left sidebar, then Plan & Billing under Workspace

  2. Follow the payment update flow to enter your new card details

Switch from App Store or Google Play to card billing

You can move your subscription to direct card billing through Beside. After switching, you'll be on the Beside subscription managed through Stripe, which lets you pay with a company card, receive invoices, and manage your subscription without a third-party store.

When you switch, the remaining time on your App Store or Google Play subscription is automatically credited toward your first Beside invoice. You only pay the difference.

To switch:

  1. Go to app.beside.com/settings/billing, or click Settings in the left sidebar, then Plan & Billing under Workspace

  2. Click Switch to Web Billing and complete checkout on Stripe

⚠️ Important: After switching, cancel your old store subscription to avoid being charged by both.

  • Cancel on Apple: Settings, then Apple ID, then Subscriptions, then Beside, then Cancel. How to cancel on the App Store

  • Cancel on Google: Play Store, then Profile, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions, then Beside, then Cancel

Limitations

πŸ“Œ Not available in Canada: App Store rules in Canada prevent redirecting subscribers to a web checkout. Wait until your current subscription expires, then subscribe directly at app.beside.com.

πŸ“Œ Not available on Android: Switching billing from within the app is currently only available on iOS. Android account owners can switch from app.beside.com/settings/billing.

FAQ

Will I lose subscription time when I switch to card billing?

No. The remaining value on your store subscription is automatically credited to your first Beside invoice.

Do I need to cancel my store subscription before switching?

No. Complete the Beside checkout first, then cancel your store subscription afterward. Canceling first would interrupt your access.

What happens if I forget to cancel my store subscription after switching?

You will be charged by both the store and Beside until you cancel the store side. For Apple refunds, go to reportaproblem.apple.com.

Can I switch if I'm on πŸ‘€ Starter or πŸ‘₯ Business?

Yes. The switch is available for πŸ‘€ Starter and πŸ‘₯ Business account owners on Apple or Google. After switching, you'll be on the Beside subscription managed through Stripe.

Where can I find my invoices after switching?

Invoices are available at app.beside.com/settings/billing, or from Settings, then Plan & Billing under Workspace.

Can I switch back to the App Store or Google Play?

There is no direct migration path back. You would need to cancel your Beside subscription and resubscribe through the store once it expires.
