Add more seats or lines

Need more than 3 seats or 3 lines on your πŸ‘₯ Business plan? You can add them directly - no need to contact support.

From iPhone (US only):

  1. Open the Beside app β†’ go to the Settings tab

  2. Under Your Account β†’ tap Members

  3. Tap Invite Member - you'll see an upgrade card: "Upgrade to add more teammates"

  4. Tap Upgrade on Web β†’ confirm the email address for invoices β†’ tap Link to Checkout

  5. Safari opens a Stripe checkout page - complete payment with a card or Apple Pay

  6. You're taken back to the app and can send the invite right away

  • Any unused time on your current App Store plan is automatically credited to your new billing.

  • The checkout page shows prices in your local currency.

  • You can pay with a credit card or Apple Pay.

From the web app:

  • Go to app.beside.com β†’ Settings β†’ Plans & Billing

  • If your plan is still managed by Apple or Google, you'll see a Switch to Web Billing button - tap it to move your billing to Beside (Stripe) and unlock full control over invoices, payment method, and team payments

⚠️ Avoid double charges: After completing the checkout, your billing moves to Beside (Stripe). Make sure to cancel your App Store subscription to avoid being charged by both Apple and Beside.

Switch plans

You can change your subscription anytime directly from the Beside mobile app:

  • Open Beside β†’ go to Settings

  • Under Your Account β†’ tap Plan & Billing

⚠️ Important:

  • You must upgrade or modify your plan on the platform where you originally subscribed.

    • Subscribed on Apple β†’ manage on Apple

    • Subscribed on Google β†’ manage on Google

  • This prevents you from being charged twice.

  • If you subscribed on Web: go to app.beside.com β†’ Settings β†’ Plans & Billing

Upgrading from Starter to Business

When you upgrade, Apple or Google will automatically cancel your πŸ‘€ Starter subscription and refund the unused portion. You will not be double-charged.

See proration examples

Example 1 - Monthly to Monthly

You subscribed to πŸ‘€ Starter Monthly ($29.99) on September 1. On September 15, you upgrade to πŸ‘₯ Business Monthly ($49.99).

  • You'll be charged $49.99 for the new plan.

  • Apple refunds roughly half of the unused Starter month (~$15).

Example 2 - Yearly to Yearly

You subscribed to πŸ‘€ Starter Yearly ($199.99) on September 1. On November 1, you upgrade to πŸ‘₯ Business Yearly ($299.99).

  • You'll be charged $299.99 for the new plan.

  • Apple refunds the unused 10 months of Starter (~$166.65).

Downgrading from Business to Starter

The downgrade takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You keep πŸ‘₯ Business features until that date. Here's what changes:

  • Phone lines: You'll lose access to additional πŸ‘₯ Business lines. Your original line stays active. Additional lines become inactive (not deleted) until you upgrade again.

  • Invited members: All invited members lose access to shared lines.

  • Settings: Line-specific configurations are hidden. Conversations remain visible but no longer show which line they belonged to.


FAQ

Can I get a refund if I forgot to cancel before my trial ended?

Beside cannot issue refunds for charges made by Apple or Google - billing is managed entirely through their platforms. You may be able to request a refund directly through your App Store or Google Play account.

Can I switch from monthly to annual billing?

Yes. Open Beside β†’ go to Settings β†’ under Your Account β†’ tap Plan & Billing and select the annual option. The switch takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You must manage this on the platform where you originally subscribed (Apple or Google).

I was charged twice - what do I do?

There are several reasons this can happen (in-app upgrades, resubscribing after a billing issue, legacy plans, and more). Identify your scenario first to know what to cancel and where to request the refund.

This can happen if you upgraded or modified your plan on a different platform than where you originally subscribed (e.g. subscribing on Apple but managing on Google). It can also happen if you added a seat or line through the in-app checkout but didn't cancel your App Store subscription afterward.

Check whether you have both an active App Store subscription and a Beside (Stripe) subscription, and cancel the App Store one.

What happens to my data if I cancel or downgrade?

Your call history, transcripts, and conversation data remain visible in the app. If you downgrade from πŸ‘₯ Business to πŸ‘€ Starter, additional lines become inactive (not deleted) and line-specific settings are hidden until you upgrade again.

Does my πŸ‘₯ Business subscription cover my whole team or does each person need their own?

Your πŸ‘₯ Business plan includes up to 3 seats (1 account owner + 2 invited members). Invited members access shared lines from their own Beside accounts at no extra cost. Additional seats beyond 3 are available at $29.99/month each.

Can I add more than 3 seats or lines on the Business plan?

Yes. On iPhone (US only), go to Settings β†’ Your Account β†’ Members β†’ tap Invite Member. You'll see an upgrade card that takes you to a Stripe checkout in Safari. You can also add seats and lines from the web app at app.beside.com β†’ Settings β†’ Plans & Billing.

How do I update my payment method?

If you're already on web billing (Stripe), go to app.beside.com β†’ Settings β†’ Plans & Billing to update your payment method.

If your plan is still managed by Apple or Google, the web app will show a "Your plan is managed on Mobile" notice. Tap Switch to Web Billing to move your billing to Beside first - after that, you'll be able to update your payment method from the same page.

Where are my invoices sent?

It depends on how you subscribed. If you subscribed through Apple or Google, invoices and receipts are handled by the App Store or Google Play - check your purchase history there. If you upgraded through the in-app Stripe checkout or the web app, Stripe sends receipts to the email address you provided during checkout. You can update this email from app.beside.com β†’ Settings β†’ Plans & Billing.

I'm resubscribing after canceling - will I get my old price back?

Not automatically. When you resubscribe, you're billed at the current rate shown in the app or web checkout, not the price you paid before. This is true even if your previous subscription used a promotional or legacy rate.

The only way to preserve an older rate is to keep your subscription active without canceling.
