Sign up and log in

No password needed

Beside does not use traditional passwords. Instead, every time you sign in, you verify your identity with a one-time code sent via SMS. This code acts as two-factor authentication (2FA), keeping your account secure without needing to remember a password.

πŸ“Œ If your login method is a phone number:

  • Make sure the phone number you use to log in can receive SMS messages.

  • If that number has been ported to Beside, the verification code will be delivered as an in-app notification instead of an SMS - check your Beside app for the code.

  • If your number cannot receive SMS (e.g. landline, VoIP-only, or no cellular service), you won't be able to complete login. Contact our support team to switch to an alternative login method.

First time signing up

To create a new Beside account, sign up using your primary phone number.

Logging back in or switching devices

You can log in using any of the following methods:

  • Primary phone number

  • Email

  • Google Sign-in

  • Apple Sign-in (iOS only)

⚠️ Logging in on a new device or platform:

  • Always use the same login method you originally used to create your account.

  • Using a different method will create a duplicate account and disconnect your subscription.

Use the same account on multiple devices

You can use the same Beside account on multiple devices (e.g. your phone and your Mac). Just log in with the same login method on each device. Your calls, texts, and settings are synced to your account, not to a specific device.

πŸ“Œ One account, one login method:

  • Each Beside account is tied to a single login method. You cannot log in with two different methods on two different devices and expect them to share the same account.

  • If you need to use your account on Beside for macOS, make sure to use the same login method you used on mobile.

FAQ

Where is my password / how do I find my login credentials?

Beside doesn't use passwords. You log in using the method you signed up with (phone number, email, Google Sign-in, or Apple Sign-in). After entering your details, you'll receive a one-time verification code via SMS to complete login. If you're unsure which method you used to sign up, our support team can look it up for you.

I'm not receiving my SMS verification code - what do I do?

This can happen for a few reasons:

  • Your phone signal is weak or SMS is not enabled on your device

  • You have shortcode numbers blocked - verification codes are sent from shortcodes

  • You're using a VPN - try disabling it, as it can interfere with SMS delivery

  • You ported your number to Beside - if your login number is the same as your ported Beside number, the verification code will be delivered as an in-app notification rather than an SMS. Check your Beside app for the code instead.

If the issue persists, contact our support team from within the app.

My login phone number can't receive SMS - how do I log in?

If your login phone number is a landline, a VoIP-only number, or no longer has cellular service, it won't be able to receive the SMS verification code needed to complete login. In that case, our support team can help you switch to an alternative login method (email, Google Sign-in, or Apple Sign-in) after verifying your identity.

Can I use the same account on multiple phones or devices?

Yes. You can log in to the same Beside account on multiple devices - just use the same login method on each one. Your calls, texts, and settings are tied to your account, not to a specific device. However, each account only supports one login method, so make sure to use the same one everywhere.

I created my Beside account on desktop - can I log in on mobile?

Yes. Download the Beside mobile app and log in using the same method you used on desktop (Google Sign-in). Don't create a new account - using a different login method will create a duplicate account and disconnect your data.

I lost access to my sign-up phone number - how do I log back in?

Contact our support team from within the app if you still have access on another device. If you're fully locked out, reach out via our website. Our team will verify your identity and help you switch to an alternative login method (email or a new phone number). Note that identity verification is required for account security.

Can I switch my login method (e.g. from phone number to Google)?

Not directly from the app. Contact our support team and they can add or change your login method after verifying your identity.
