When you sign up for Beside, you're assigned a Beside number. This is the number used for calls and texts within the app. If you've set up call forwarding from your carrier, callers still dial your existing number, but the call is handled by Beside behind the scenes.
You can find your Beside number from the mobile app or π Beside on the web. Here's how.
Understand which number is which
Depending on your setup, your Beside line can have one or two phone numbers attached. Here's what each one means.

π How they appear in the app:
In Settings β your line β Configure Number, the Beside number section shows the number assigned to your line.
If you have call forwarding enabled, you'll also see a second entry with your existing carrier number and a Call Forwarding toggle. Tapping it opens the "Manage how Beside uses your number" screen.
If you've done a Port & Replace, your ported number takes over as your Beside number - there's only one Beside number per line.
On Beside on the web
Go to app.beside.com
Click Settings in the sidebar, then Phone Numbers under Workspace - you'll see your line(s) listed with their Beside numbers
Click a line to open its settings - the Beside number is shown at the top and under the General tab in Configure Number
On the mobile app - if you have 1 line

Open the Beside mobile app
Go to the Settings tab
Tap Configure Number
You'll find your Beside number on this page
On the mobile app - if you have multiple lines
If you have multiple lines on your account, check the number for each line individually:

Tap the line you want to check
Tap Configure number

When you sign up, Beside assigns you a new number. If you want calls to your existing business number to be handled by Beside, you need to set up call forwarding from your carrier, or port your existing number to Beside.

Texts always go out from your Beside number, even if you've set up call forwarding. The only way for texts to show your original number is if you've ported that number to Beside.

Yes - each line gets one free number change. You can change it from the mobile app (Settings β Configure number β Change) or on the web at app.beside.com under Settings β Phone Numbers β click your line β General β Change.

Very unlikely. A completed port replaces your Beside number with your ported number, so each line only has one Beside number at a time. If the number shown doesn't match your ported number, the most common cause is that the port isn't complete yet, and you're still seeing the Beside number you were originally assigned at signup. Contact our team through the in-app chat with the number you ported, and we'll check the status for you.
