You can change your Beside number directly from the Beside mobile app - as long as you haven't already used your free change. Each line gets one free number change, so pick your new area code carefully before confirming.
If you're on a 👥 Business plan with multiple lines, each line gets its own free change - you can update them independently.
Steps apply to both iPhone and Android.
Starter plan
If you're on a 👤 Starter plan:
Open Beside → go to the Settings tab.
In the Phone section → tap Configure number.
Tap Change → tap Continue.
Enter your preferred area code in the search field.
Browse the available numbers and tap the one you want.
Tap Continue to confirm your choice.
Business plan
If you're on a 👥 Business plan, you can change the number for each line individually:
Open Beside → go to the Settings tab.
In the Phone Numbers section → tap the line you want to update.
In the Phone section → tap Configure number.
Tap Change → tap Continue.
Enter your preferred area code in the search field.
Browse the available numbers and tap the one you want.
Tap Continue to confirm your choice.
⚠️ Important - before you confirm:
Number changes are limited to one per line - this cannot be undone.
You cannot change your number to a toll-free or virtual 800 number.
Beside can help you choose an area code, but cannot guarantee or manually assign a specific number within that area code.
