You can change your Beside number directly from the Beside web app or mobile app - as long as you haven't already used your free change. Each line gets one free number change, so pick your new area code carefully before confirming.
If you have multiple lines, each line gets its own free change - you can update them independently.
⚠️ Important - before you confirm:
Number changes are limited to one per line - this cannot be undone.
You cannot change your number to a toll-free or virtual 800 number.
Beside can help you choose an area code, but cannot guarantee or manually assign a specific number within that area code.
On the web app
Go to app.beside.com → click Settings in the sidebar → Phone Numbers under Workspace.
Click the line you want to update.
On the General tab → Configure Number section → click Change next to Change number.
In the search field, enter your preferred area code, city, or state.
Browse the available numbers and select the one you want.
Click Continue to confirm your choice.
On the mobile app
Steps apply to both iPhone and Android.
If you have 1 line
Open Beside → go to the Settings tab.
In the Phone section → tap Configure number.
Tap Change → tap Continue.
Enter your preferred area code in the search field.
Browse the available numbers and tap the one you want.
Tap Continue to confirm your choice.

If you have multiple lines on your account, you can change the number for each line individually:
Open Beside → go to the Settings tab.
In the Phone Numbers section → tap the line you want to update.
In the Phone section → tap Configure number.
