The Beside mobile app is available in the US and Canada only.
⚠️ Even if your App Store or Google Play account is set to the US or Canada, we recommend only using Beside while physically located there - the service requires a US or Canadian phone number, and using it abroad may result in unexpected charges or access restrictions.
🌴 Traveling outside the US or Canada?
Your account may be flagged as restricted, which will prevent you from placing outgoing calls or sending texts.
If this happens, you'll be prompted in the app to verify your ID and confirm that you're a US or Canadian national - this will restore your access.
Disabling a VPN may also resolve the issue if your connection appears to come from outside the region.
Desktop (macOS)
Beside for macOS is available worldwide.
Phone line setup (calls & texts) requires an active mobile subscription (US & Canada).
Supported languages
Languages spoken by the AI Receptionist
Depending on the voice you choose for your AI Receptionist, it can handle calls in English, French, Portuguese, Spanish, and Russian.
Right now:
The AI Receptionist always starts calls in English.
If the selected voice supports multiple languages, callers can ask it to switch languages manually at any time.
Multilingual voices are currently available on iOS only. On Android, the AI Receptionist is limited to English for now.
Coming soon:
You'll be able to choose the default language your Receptionist starts in. For example, start calls in Spanish instead of English when using a bilingual voice.

If your AI Receptionist is using a voice clone, it only supports English (US).
To enable multilingual support, switch to one of the bilingual pre-recorded voices.

Beside is designed to operate in the United States and Canada. If our system detects that your connection appears to be coming from outside these regions - or from a VPN that masks your location - the app may temporarily restrict outgoing calls and texts.
You may be asked to verify your identity to confirm you're an authorized user. Once completed, full access will be restored. Disabling a VPN may also resolve the issue.

Yes - if you've selected a bilingual voice, your AI Receptionist can handle calls in both languages. It always starts in English by default, but callers can ask it to switch at any time. Note that only one additional language can be active alongside English - it's not possible to switch between multiple non-English languages.
