How to manage notifications in the Beside mobile app?

Learn how to customize how and when Beside notifies you - per inbox (phone line) or across the entire app - so you stay in control without interruptions.

Overview

Beside gives you two types of notification controls:

  1. Inbox-level notifications: settings that apply to a specific inbox (phone line)

  2. App-level notifications: settings that apply to the entire Beside app

If you have multiple lines, each inbox can have its own notification preferences.


Inbox-level notification settings (per Beside phone line)

These settings control how notifications behave for a specific inbox (phone line).

Open the Beside app → go to the Settings tab.

  • If you have a single line (Starter plan), scroll down to Notifications.

  • If you have multiple lines (Business plan), under Inboxes, tap the inbox you want to manage, then scroll down to Notifications.

Silence Unknown Callers

Automatically silence calls from unknown numbers by sending them straight to Beside Voicemail.

Notification Schedule

Choose when you want to receive call and text notifications for this inbox.

What it does:

  • During your chosen working hours → calls & messages from this inbox notify you normally

  • Outside those hours → this inbox stays quiet and calls go straight to voicemail

  • Applies to all teammates if the inbox is shared (see below)

How to enable it:

1. Open the Beside app → go to the Settings tab. Then:

  • If you have a single line (Starter plan), scroll down to Notifications → Notification Schedule

  • If you have multiple lines (Business plan), under Inboxes, tap the inbox you want to manage, then scroll down to Notifications → Notification Schedule

2. Toggle ON Schedule Notifications

3. Select the days you want to receive notifications

4. Choose a From → To time range

5. Tap Save

ℹ️ Notes

  • Different time ranges per day are not supported yet

  • The same schedule applies to all selected days

  • If the inbox is shared, this schedule applies to every teammate

🔔 Important for shared inboxes

Notification Schedule is an inbox-level setting.

This means:

  • The schedule applies to the entire shared inbox, not to individual devices

  • Any teammate who updates it changes it for everyone

  • During quiet hours, calls go to voicemail for all teammates

This is intentional so teams stay aligned on working hours and notifications.


App-level notification settings (global)

These settings apply to the entire Beside app and affect all inboxes.

Access them from: Settings → Notifications

Daily Recap

Control whether you receive a daily summary of your Beside activity, and choose when it’s delivered.

➡️ Steps (iPhone & Android)

  • Open Beside → Settings → Notifications → Daily Recap:

    • Toggle Daily Recap ON or OFF

    • Select your preferred delivery time

ℹ️ Notes:

  • Delivered once per day at your selected time

  • Applies globally to your account (not per inbox)

  • If you have multiple inboxes, you’ll receive one recap in your Personal Inbox

Email notifications

⚠️ Available on the Business plan only

If you joined Beside on or after January 22, 2026, this feature is not available on the Starter plan, you need to upgrade to the Business plan to access it.

Email notifications send you a call summary and transcript after each call.

These summaries help you keep track of conversations without opening the app.

You can manage two things:

  1. Turn email notifications ON or OFF

  2. Choose the email address where notifications are sent

ℹ️ Notes:

  • Only one destination email can be selected

  • This does not update your Apple ID / login email

  • Applies globally to all inboxes
