Your Beside subscription can be billed through the App Store (iOS), Google Play (Android), or directly through Beside using a card. This article explains how to update your billing method depending on where your subscription is managed.

Update your payment method on the App Store

If your subscription is billed through Apple, you update your payment method directly in your Apple account settings - not in the Beside app.

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone

  2. Tap your name at the top, then Payment & Shipping

  3. Add or update your card details

Changes apply to all App Store subscriptions, including Beside.

Update your payment method on Google Play

If your subscription is billed through Google Play, update your payment method in the Play Store:

  1. Open the Play Store app

  2. Tap your profile icon, then Payments & subscriptions > Payment methods

  3. Add or update your card details

Update your payment method on a Beside (card) subscription

If your subscription is already managed directly through Beside, you can update your card at any time:

  1. Go to app.beside.com and sign in

  2. Open Settings > Plans & Billing

  3. Select Update payment method and enter your new card details

Switch from App Store or Google Play to card billing

If your subscription is currently managed through the App Store or Google Play, you can move it to direct card billing through Beside. This lets you pay with a company card, receive invoices, and manage your subscription without going through a third-party store.

When you switch, the remaining time on your App Store or Google Play subscription is automatically credited toward your first Beside invoice - you only pay the difference.

To switch:

  1. Go to app.beside.com and sign in

  2. Open Settings > Plans & Billing

  3. Tap Switch to Web Billing and complete checkout

⚠️ Important - cancel your App Store or Google Play subscription after switching: Once you have completed the checkout, your new Beside subscription is active. Make sure to cancel your old store subscription to avoid being charged by both.

  • Cancel on Apple: Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions > Beside > Cancel. How to cancel on the App Store

  • Cancel on Google: Play Store > Profile > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions > Beside > Cancel

Limitations

📌 Not available in Canada: App Store rules in Canada prevent redirecting subscribers to a web checkout. If your account is based in Canada, you will need to wait until your current App Store subscription expires, then subscribe directly at app.beside.com, then navigate to Settings > Plans & Billing.

📌 Not available on Android: Switching billing from within the app is currently only available on iOS. Android account owners who want to switch can go to app.beside.com, then navigate to Settings > Plans & Billing.

FAQ

Will I lose subscription time when I switch to card billing?

No. The remaining value on your App Store or Google Play subscription is automatically credited to your first Beside invoice, so you only pay the difference.

Do I need to cancel my App Store or Google Play subscription before switching?

No - complete the Beside checkout first, then cancel your store subscription afterward. Cancelling first would interrupt your access.

What happens if I forget to cancel my store subscription after switching?

You will be charged by both the store and Beside until you cancel the store side. Cancel as soon as possible. For Apple refunds, go to reportaproblem.apple.com.

Can I switch if I am on the Starter plan?

Yes. The switch is available for both 👤 Starter and 👥 Business plan account owners.

Where can I find my invoices after switching?

Invoices are available in Settings > Plans & Billing on the web app at app.beside.com.

Can I switch back from card billing to the App Store or Google Play?

There is no direct migration path from card billing back to a store. You would need to cancel your Beside subscription and resubscribe through the App Store or Google Play once it expires.
