Group chats let you communicate with multiple contacts in one place: perfect for coordinating with clients, teammates, or anyone you work with. Creating one only takes a few seconds.
❗ Important limitation
Group texting with non-Beside users is not supported yet: all participants must be using Beside. We know this is important for many users, and our team is actively exploring ways to support it in the future.
If you’d like to add teammates to your group chats, you’ll first need to upgrade to the Business plan. This plan lets you invite teammates to your inboxes so they can participate in shared conversations. 👉 Learn more in the section: Can I invite teammates to a line?, What are the different Beside plans and prices?
Follow the steps below to start your first group conversation in Beside:
1. Open the Inbox
Launch the Beside app on your mobile device.
Navigate to the Inbox screen, which serves as the central hub for all your conversations.
2. Tap the + Icon
Tap on the + icon at the top right of the screen to initiate the creation of a new chat.
3. Select New Group
In the menu that appears, tap on "New Group."
This option allows you to start a group conversation with multiple contacts.
4. Add participants
Select the contacts you want to include in the group
You can search for specific contacts or scroll through your list
When you’ve added everyone, tap Create to start the group chat
5. Start chatting
Your group is now ready!
Send messages, share media, and collaborate with everyone in one thread.
Beside’s AI can also summarize discussions, highlight decisions, and extract action items to help you stay organized.
