Group chats let you communicate with multiple contacts in one place - perfect for coordinating with clients or anyone you work with. Creating one only takes a few seconds.
⚠️ Important limitation: Group texting with non-Beside contacts is not supported yet - all participants must be using Beside. The team is actively exploring ways to support this in the future.
📌 Group chats are created from the Beside mobile app. Once created, they sync across your signed-in devices, so you'll see existing group threads on the mobile app, on the web app at app.beside.com, and on Beside for macOS.
Create a group chat
📱 Mobile app only. Creating a group chat isn't available on the web app yet - you'll need to create it from the Beside mobile app. Once created, the group will sync to the web app and Beside for macOS so you can continue the conversation from there.
Open the Beside mobile app
Go to the Inbox tab
Tap the + icon at the top right of the screen
Tap New Group
Select the contacts you want to include (search or scroll through your list)
Tap Create to start the group chat
Your group is now ready. Send messages, share media, and collaborate with everyone in one thread.
Add team members to group chats
To include invited members in your group chats, you first need to share your line with teammates. Once a teammate is added to your line, they'll be able to participate in group chats from that line.
